Bike week runs from 10th – 18th June this year and in support of this Athenry are holding a Pedal Parade to raise awareness to motorists that we like to cycle in our town.  On Sunday 11th June at 4pm we will gather at the car park beside Kenny Park where there will be a short talk about road safety before we head off on our bikes.

This will be no ordinary cycle around the town though.  We are asking all our participants to ‘Pimp Up’ your bicycle with bells and whistles and whatever else you like and join us for a parade around our town.  We will have a prize on the day for the best effort.

There will be a cycle safety talk given by local cycling enthusiasts.

The event is hosted by Athenry Community Council, Galway County Council, Gliondar Community Arts Group, the 19th Galway Athenry Scouts and supported by the Athenry Agricultural Show (May 28th).
