The Athenry Pedal Parade 2017

Despite wind and rain doing their best to scupper it, the inaugural Athenry Pedal Parade went ahead full steam on Sunday 11th June for Bikeweek.ie 2017.

For the day that was in it there were 15 participants, 10 stewards, the Emergency Services and approximately 20 other cyclists between parents and supporters.

It was really encouraging and the organisers are looking forward to next year where hopefully the weather will be less inclement.

Athenry has some lovely cycling routes and the Athenry Pedal Parade aims to raise awareness to motorists that they are quite likely to meet a cyclist coming around the next bend so drive safely and pedal aware.  Check them out on facebook at Athenry Pedal Parade.
